Final part of portfolio

Possibly some of my best photographs so far. Always a learning curve! Enjoying it to the max!!

< Ideal Room >
This is my favourite photo as it is ultimately my 'ideal room'. I took a lot of time making this image perfect and not revealing all too much to the audience at first glance. Once you look closer you can see what other images i have incorporated and consequently what my ideal room would actually be like.

< Still Life >
This photo was inspired by Ansel Adams and his portfolios of landscapes. It was a decision between this and another photo that was much more similar to Ansels' as it was edited into Black and White (see below below). However, this photo i had taken during the day and wanted to highlight the movement within the mushroom and the patterns on the underside. For me, it seemed like veins or some form of movement within the mushroom which is ultimately what provoked me into using this image for my portfolio part 4.

< Other option for Still Life >

As mentioned above, this image was inspired by Ansel Adams and the idea of tree roots growing as new forms of life. I did particularly like the detail and complexities of the roots, the way they interlock and intertwine. The eye in the middle of the picture created that contrast of black and white quite well for me. I have had positive feedback on this photo.

Editing

Recently edited this 'secret spaces' photo to make it less yellowy, by increasing the blue in the colour contrast.
Think it works a lot better!

Week 9 ... Still Life .... I was in my back garden and came across this snail half way up a very tall pine tree. I began taking photos of him and his journey along this tree, using depth of field to make the photo more aesthetically interesting and to almost highlight the height he was at in comparison to the willow tree opposite.

Week 8 ... Secret Spaces ... My cat Chico at home in Manchester did me extremely proud in this photo. The use of the wall to hide half of his face created that sense of secrecy and peering out behind his hiding spot.

Week 7 ...Colour and Meaning... I took this photo on bonfire night 2012, i created the sense of movement through motion blur to enhance the overcrowded feel. The idea that people congregate to experience the colour of the bonfire and fireworks fitted well for this brief.

Week 6.... Self-portrait. Dance is a part of me and a part of my daily life. I train most days throughout the week. I have been dancing for roughly 13 years and have achieved distinctions in my grades, i am up to Advanced 1 in Modern, Advanced 1 in Tap, and Grade 6 in Ballet. I do my own contemporary dance and particularly love choreographing.

Week 5 ....Editing this in photoshop was a lot of fun. Created different tonal effects and altered the contrast and saturation to create the image i wanted.
